KATY FARRELL

Combo/Jazz/Tap Instructor

Katy started dancing when she was 5 years old and has trained at various studios around the valley.  She attended Corona del Sol High School and was an honor society student.  Katy was also in the Advanced Dance Program and on the Pom Line at Corona.

Currently Katy is a student at ASU Polytechnic majoring in applied biosciences.

Katy is very excited to be a part of the teaching staff at Artistic Motion Dance.

SHAY LUCEY

Ballet/Pilates Instructor

 Shay began dancing at the age of 6 in Laguna Hills, CA. She continued her training at many prestigious schools including Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Alonso King’s LINES Ballet. 

After graduating from the University of Arizona with a BFA in dance, she joined Nevada Ballet Theatre in Las Vegas as a trainee.  After only one year with the company she was promoted to the corps de ballet.  In summer of ’06, Shay was chosen from the company to perform at the Vail International Dance Festival with Peter Anastos’ Yes Virginia.  Her favorite roles include the Russian lead in George Balanchine’s Serenade, and Julia in Val Caniparoli’s Lambarena. 

Shay is also certified pilates instructor through Gracie Martinez’s Las Vegas Body Arts and Movement.  She is thrilled to be a part of Artistic Motion.

CHRIS JEFFREY

Tap Instructor

Chris received his tap training at Elite Dance and Performing Arts. It was at EDPA that Chris first began teaching tap as a substitute teacher. During his time at EDPA, Chris danced competitively, receiving high scores and a “Mr. Teen Dance” regional award.

Chris has been tapping for 6 years and has enjoyed teaching and performing with his peers in many high school performances that include musicals, such as, “Seussical the Musical,” and  “Copacabana.” Chris was honored for his contribution as Dance Captain for the musicals. Chris has also assisted and choreographed tap for a local middle school during their 2006 performance of “Annie.”

Chris has experienced and has enjoyed working with various age groups and with a variety of performance venues.

SHARLEE CHAPMAN

Combo Instructor

Sharlee began dancing when she 3 years old at Bridget McCarter Dance Academy.  After two years of dance she switched to cheerleading and continued cheering through high school.  Sharlee started dancing again at the age of 11 at Dance Connection Too in Gilbert.  She danced on the Dynamite Express for two years and then joined Teen Company.  After only one year in Teen Company Sharlee was invited to be a part of Senior Company.  She traveled to many different states throughout the US winning many national awards.  

Sharlee graduated from Gilbert High School in 2005 and is now a student at Scottsdale Community College, studying elementary education hoping to teach second grade.  

Sharlee is extremely excited to be teaching at Artistic Motion Dance.
